Kinja'd!!!

Removed the wipers and cog boxes, removed the pedals and the steering column. All that's left now is the heater box and controls, the handbrake and the petrol tank. Then the body's ready to be lifted from the chassis.

Also got halfway through removing the steering box on the Lada (we tried adjusting it to take up some play in the steering and it broke when we next used it.

Unfortunately, you can't get it out without removing the exhaust downpipe, and that's pretty severely rusted in place. We'll soak it in WD40 for a couple of days and see if it wants to come out without a fight.

It's a 1974 MkIV 1300.

Unfortunately, the I4 is really not happy, and after a month of tinkering around rebuilding carbs and such we still couldn't get it to run properly...

...so I've got a 2.5l PI Triumph I6 to go into it. Should be great fun.
